Trinidad and Tobago: Two separate collisions on the major highways across Trinidad and Tobago took place between late Saturday and early hours of Sunday, resulting in the death of 3 men while one another was critically injured. It is reported that both the incidents took place on different highways namely, Charlieville Highway and Westbound Churchill Roosevelt Highway.

Reports claim that the accident on the Charlieville highway was due to a collision in which a silver Nissan AD Wagon with the registration plate PDD 6329 left the roadway and ended in a ditch. This incident was reported to the fire services around 1:30 am on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Police further confirmed that there were two people in the car travelling at the time of the incident and as they arrived on the scene, they found them both lying on the grass near the vehicle. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Rondell Mungroo while the passenger was a 19-year-old identified as Adrian Neemah, both residents of Vistabella.

While paramedics assisted them both however they were pronounced dead at the scene following which their bodies were transferred to Mt. Hope Mortuary where they await autopsies. On the other hand, the wrecked vehicle was towed and sent to the Chaguanas Police Station.

Police said that the second incident took place just hours before the up-mentioned incident at around 11:55 pm on Saturday, August 9, 2025. The officers of the Maloney Police station responded to the reports of a pedestrian accident on the westbound Churchill Roosevelt Highway.

A 44-year-old from Tobago was driving a black Honda Vezel with the registration number PEF 9188. The driver, in his initial statements, told the police that as he was driving two men wearing dark clothes suddenly ran across the highway in his way, which resulted in the vehicle colliding with both of them.

As a result of the collision, one of them died on the spot and the other one faced injuries and was taken to the hospital for further treatments. The deceased’s identity remains unknown while the second pedestrian was identified as Saleem Mohammed.

The deceased body was removed from the scene and the vehicle was seized for further inquiries. Police said that they are continuing their investigations on both incidents.

These two crashes also got added up on the growing list of recent tragedies on the twin island nation’s road. As per the reports, within the past 48 hours, five people have lost their lives in separate traffic incident casualties.

The traffic unit of Trinidad and Tobago have urged the road users to remain alert and prioritize their lives and safety of all to help in controlling the rising death toll.
