St Kitts and Nevis: The much-anticipated Fruit Festival 2024 is all set to open for the agro-processing vendors in Charlestown Waterfront on Friday, August 2, 2024. Under the Patronage of Ministry of Agriculture of Nevis, the local fruits will be showcased at different stalls from 9 am to 7 pm.

Premier Mark Brantley invited the street vendors to explore the market and showcased their offerings by crafting unique products from the distinguished fruits. The event will feature a cake competition, ice-cream competition, fruit competitions, and games. It will also include plenty of other activities and gifts with surprises for the attendees.

DJ X-Ray (Reloaded Sounds) and Kasanova Band will entertain the audience and enhance the travel experience of the tourists who will visit Nevis from across the globe. The event will be sponsored by “The Finished Touch Ltd- TFT, and ECGC.”

The fruits and vegetables will be displayed at different stalls with creativity by infusing these products into every dish and cocktail. The talented chefs and street vendors will offer a unique experience that celebrates the versatility of the fruits that are present in Nevis.

The whole objective of the festival is to enhance the local fruits and provide business to the street vendors and local crafts. Local fruits will be used in a number of different ways, with a special focus on mango, bringing competitions for the attendees.

In addition to that, the fruit festival will also address the issue of food security and foster the usage of naturally grown products. Premier Mark Brantley added that the event will serve as the platform to promote a lot more of a local and start to consume a lot more of the local.

With this, the Ministry of Agriculture also aimed at reducing the food import as part of the 25 by 25 mission and growing the products that the country eats on a regular basis. The local of Nevis will be promoted through the festival.
