The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ageing, and Disabilities in Collaboration with Citizen Security St. Kitts and Nevis will organize a Senior Citizens Security Community Conversation. This event will begin on 7 October 2024 and will focus on the initiative of the Well-being and safety of the senior citizens in St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Security Community Conversation will last for three days, starting from 7 October 2024 till 9 October 2024. This important event will take place at five popular places in St. Kitts and Nevis: Lighthouse Baptist Church, Tabernacle Community Centre, St. Peters Community Centre, St. Pauls Community Centre, and Ottleys Community Centre.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew updated on their official Facebook handle regarding the Security Community event. He also talked about the need for discussions with senior citizens to learn more about their physical, mental, and social problems. He also said, “Our beloved senior citizens will join the conversation on the issue of citizen security. Surely, we can learn from their experience.”
On 21 September 2024, Prime Minister Drew held an important meeting to ensure the safety and betterment of the citizens, which had a special focus on senior citizens. The discussions focused on various ways to improve community engagement and security measures that specifically understand the needs of older people.
