Guyana Amazon Warriors won the match against Barbados Royals with a decent margin of 47 runs in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024. The amazing partnership of Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer, batters of Amazon Warriors, made it possible for the team to give a huge target of 219 in just 20 overs.

Barbados Royals won the toss and came to field first. Their team consisted of some great bowlers, with Mahesh Theekshana at the top, followed by Jason Holder, Keshav Maharaj, and Obed McCoy.

The team game and sportsmanship shown by the Amazon Warriors is what made them win that evening. Their bowlers also performed well, with Gudakesh Motie taking three wickets, whereas Moeen Ali and Imran Tahir took two wickets for each of the Barbados Royals batters.

The title of ‘Player of the Match” was given to Shai Hope for scoring 71 runs in the match. He is also the wicketkeeper of the team and contributed well to the fielding of the Amazon Warriors.

David Miller, a Barbados Royals player, also scored 71 runs while remaining ‘Not out’ in the entire match. His dedication and performance made the team reach a decent score of 172. Apart from that, Quinton De Kock was the opener of Barbados Royals, who gave a good start to the match by hitting two sixes and three fours, respectively.

Mahesh Theekshana was the highest wicket-taker for the Royals, who took three important wickets from the Amazon Warriors batters. All the players of the Royals were in good form, but still, the Amazon Warriors had their chances high that evening.

Guyana Amazon Warriors took to their official Facebook handle, where they posted about their victory. Netizens have shown their love and support to the team and have given them blessings for their upcoming matches.

The huge fanbase of both teams was present at the Providence Stadium, where they were seen supporting their favorite teams. Netizens appreciated both teams for their great performance in the match. Though the Royals couldn’t win, they won many hearts with their outstanding fielding and batting.

After this interesting match, the Barbados Royals will now be up against Trinbago Knight Riders for their next match on 28 September 2024 at Tarouba, while the Amazon Warriors now face St. Lucia Kings on the same date at Providence Stadium.

Both the teams have performed extremely well in the season and are looking forward to winning the Trophy of CPL 2024.
