Saint Lucia Kings won the match against Antigua and Barbuda on 15 September 2024 in yet another match of the Caribbean Premier League. The victory was huge as the Kings beat the Falcons by 26 runs.
After winning the toss, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons chose to field first. The Falcons fielding lineup helped them restrict the Kings to a decent score of 157/8. David Wiese, a Saint Lucia Kings player, remained ‘not out’ throughout the match and contributed the most runs (*43) from his bat to the team.
Johnson Charles, opener of Kings, started the match with a great swing and managed to score 25 runs before his catch was taken by Jahmar Hamilton. Ackeen Auguste also did his best by contributing 35 runs from his bat when he played against the Falcons. The batting lineup was in form and gave their best on the field.
The Falcons had a target of 158 runs from 20 overs. Chris Green, captain of ABF, stood strong in the field and got 48 runs to his name. Though other players were not in their excellent form of ABF, the team managed to reach the score of 126/8 in 20 overs. Though the balling efforts of ABF were genuinely great, their batting couldn’t keep up the pace with the match.
Saint Lucia Kings performed well in both their batting and balling. Khary Pierre was given the title of ‘Player of the Match’ after he took three crucial wickets from the Falcons just when they were at the score of 24 runs.
Kharry Pierre also stood calmly on the ground with David Wiese while they were playing the final overs of the match. Though he didn’t contribute from his bat, his exceptional balling skills gave him a much-deserving title.
Both teams performed well on the ground. The batting line of the Saint Lucia Kings was strong and dedicated, whereas the balling line of the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons created a strong impact on the game.
The major win of the Kings sparked congratulatory replies on social media. Fans of both teams created a great environment in the stadium where they were seen cheering for their favorite teams.
Falcons have won 2 matches till now out of 8 games in CPL 2024, whereas the Kings remain in the second position of the table after winning four games out of 6.
St. Lucia Kings will face Barbados Royals on 21 September 2024, whereas Antigua and Barbados Falcons will have their upcoming match with Trinbago Knight Riders on 20 September 2024.
