Bahamas: A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Bahamas due to the chances of heavy rainfall and lightning. The passage of the Tropical Wave has been predicted for the country, causing the occurrences of gusty winds.
With strong to severe thunderstorms, localized flooding is also possible during the passage of these storms. The heavy rainfall and strong downpours will effectively impact the Bahamas where warnings of thunderstorms have also been issued.
According to the met department, the warning of severe thunderstorms is also in effect for North Eleuthera and Central Andros along with its surrounding areas. Some of the showers and heavy downpours have also been predicted for the Bahamas and will offer series of inclement weather conditions.
Further, the passage of the storms will provide heavy downpours and possible waterspout to the country due to the strong to severe conditions of the thunderstorms. Now, the warnings have been issued for the citizens to remain cautious about the situation as flooding could be possible in low-lying areas.
Even the boaters in the warning area are asked to seek a safe harbour and the residents in these areas should remain indoors or away from windows when conditions worsen.
Hurricane Season 2024 is underway in the Caribbean region due to which the weather has been posing threats to the different nations. The countries with low-lying conditions are prone to the conditions of the heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms and the warnings are issued for the residents for the inclement conditions.
Now, the residents should not seek shelter under trees or in the waters as these can become lightning conductors. The warnings for the flooding have also been issued for the country as Trinidad and Tobago also featured flood-like situation in recent days due to heavy rainfall.
The flood-like situation in Trinidad and Tobago restricted the country and the flow of the traffic as it the common people were asked to remain indoors.
