296.3M allocated for Financial Ministry in Dominica budget for 2024/2025 fiscal year

Roseau, Dominica: Minister of Finance- Dr Irving McIntyre started presenting the 2024/2025 budget and announced the highest budget allocation for the finance ministry. The budget of 296.3M, which is 43.6% of the total recurrent expenditure, is set for the finance ministry.  

The second highest allocation was given to the health ministry which included 12.1% of total recurrent expenditure with the budget of 81.9M. The third highest was for the Ministry of Education which is 70.0M- 10.4% of the total expenditure.  

The fourth highest was the Ministry of National Security which is 60.6M which is 8.9% of the total expenditure. Ministry of Public Works stood at the fifth highest in the budget presentation with 8.1% of the total expenditure.  

The budget allocation for the different sector is as follows:  

Recurrent expenditure- 679. 4 million included those provided by law, expenditures are allocated as follows:  

Office of the President: 1.2 million 

Integrity in Public Office Commission: 0.5 million 

Public and Police Service Commission: 0.4M 

The legislature: 1.2M 

Audit Department: 1.1m 

Electoral Office: 1.9M 

Ministry of National Secuity: 60.6M 

Office of the Prime Minister: 10. 4M 

Minister of Finance: 296.3M  

Minister of Agriculture, Marine: 9M 

Ministry of Education: 70.0M 

Ministry of Housing: 6.2m 

Ministry of Health: 81.9M 

Ministry of Environment: 11.2M 

Ministry of Tourism: 20. 6M 

Ministry of Culture: 12.8m 

Training Department: 9.9M 

Ministry of Public Works: 55M 

Ministry of Foreign Affairs: 22.8M 

Cabinet Office: 3.8M 

Ministry of Labour: 2.2M 

Goods and Service: 35% or 234.9M 

Personal Involvements: 167.1M or 25% (Public Officers)

Capital Expenditure: 934.9M 

Office of the President: .07 million 

The legislature: .0.1M 

Audit Department: 1.1m
