West Indies Skipper Hayley Matthews becomes the fastest wicket-taker of West Indies as she completes her 100 wickets in a Women’s T20 match. This record was created during the match between West Indies and Scotland, where Hayley removed Scottish opener Saskia Horley only on eleven runs and nine balls. After sending Saskia Horley back to the dressing room, Hayley Matthews created a record of taking 100 wickets in T20I cricket.
She also became the fastest woman to reach 1,000 runs and 100 wickets in the T20I format in just her 98th match. Matthews is the second West Indies player to reach 100 wickets in women’s T20Is after Anisa Mohammed, who had a total of 125 wickets in her career. She has created a mark in the Women’s T20I matches with her great performance.
Hayley Matthews was just 16 years old when she made her debut for the West Indies against New Zealand in 2014. Although she didn’t get a chance to bowl in her debut match, she made her mark soon after in her second T20I during the West Indies tour of Australia.
