Trinidad and Tobago: A 42-year-old woman was robbed in her house located at Seemungal Trace, Rock Road, Penal during a home invasion which took place on Monday morning. The incident occurred around 5:12 a.m. on October 27 when the suspect tied the victim and robbed her jewellery, cash and a vehicle parked outside.
According to police reports, the suspects are described as being of African descent and entered the victim’s home while she was outside. It was also reported that at least one of the suspects was armed.
The victim told police that she first took her husband’s vehicle out as he had to leave for work, then parked her white Toyota Aqua under an open shed. She said that when she re-entered the house through the kitchen door, three men of African descent confronted her and announced a robbery.
She further stated that the suspects demanded money and jewellery before tying her hands and feet with duct tape. They then searched the house for more valuables and escaped with a safe containing house documents and several pieces of gold jewellery valued at over TT$35,000. Along with that she claimed they took two cell phones and a vehicle which was parked under the open shed.
Authorities stated that once the report was made, investigators immediately launched a search and later found the stolen vehicle abandoned along Seemungal Trace. They added that investigations are ongoing as officers work to identify and locate the suspects.
