An unfortunate incident of fire eruption near the Rupert Dean Lane in Bahamas was reported on June 16, 2025. Giving the details of the affected the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) shared that 4 toddlers have been impacted by the fire and a 5 year old toddler has lost his life.
According to the initial reports by the authorities, the staff of the Princess Margaret Hospital reported to the police at 4:30 pm that they have patients in their trauma room who are suffering from severe burns on their bodies due to the fire.
The children’s mother shared that the 4 children were in the care of a relative when she was out to work for the government. The relative with whom the kids were staying stated that they fell asleep and woke up to the children on fire and the bedroom in partial flames.
As per the details shared by the hospital, all the kids had severe burns which affected large parts of their bodies. They were taken to the hospital immediately for medical care but one of the kids did not pull through the injuries.
The Police are still investigating the tragic circumstances that led to the fire. While the children are being treated in the Princess Margaret Hospital, the authorities are ensuring proper care and right treatment provided to the children and at the same time, are putting in place for their safety.
The authorities are requesting the public to share any information they may have on the issue which is still very much an active investigation. Netizens are urging the police for proper investigations while asking the hospital to treat the children as soon as possible.
