Trinidad: A decomposing body of a man was found on June 14, 2025 by the relatives of the deceased on Saturday in Barrackpore. The incident was reported to the police authorities by one of the relatives of the deceased.
The deceased was identified as 49-year-old Sahai Ramnarine, resident of Jaggan Trace, Cumuto Road, North, Barrackpore.
As per the statements released by the Police authorities, around 11:45 am, a 66-year-old relative of Sahai contacted the Barrackpore Police Station, reporting about the decomposing body of Sahai at his own residence.
Upon investigating the relative told the authorities that around 10 am he went to visit his younger brother but after multiple tries of knocking at the door and receiving no response, he forced opened the front door and found his brother’s body lying on the floor motionless on the floor in a state of decomposition.
The location was visited by the District Medical Officer, Dr. Ramlogan, where he secured the whole place and upon examining the scene, declared the man officially dead. Also they found that “no visible signs of violence or injuries were found on the body”.
The Crime Scene Investigators upon processing the whole location shared that as of now they have found nothing evidential. It is informed that the man lived alone for a period of time. Upon investigating his brother more it came to light that he last saw his brother on either June 8th or 9th and he reportedly complained about feeling unwell.
After the investigation, the body was transported to the San Fernando branch for the post-mortem at the Forensic Science Centre.
The case’s investigation is still active and is led by PC Baptiste.
