Guyana: President of Guyana, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali has urged Iran and Israel to end the ongoing conflict due to its effects on oil, food prices and humanity on a global level. During his recent address he called for the end of war and asked both the countries to take the path of peace and have a table talk to end the war.
Highlighting the necessity of ending the war, President of Guyana shed light on the threatening impact on the lives and livelihood of billions around the world due to the rise of about 8% in fuel prices since the war began and the rise in food prices saying more than 30 billion people will go into chronic hunger if the war does not end soon.
Irfaan Ali Calls for Global Unity
The Head of State emphasized that every single member of the human family will be affected by the war as the prices of basic necessities such as cereal are set to go up and basic goods will not be accessible to many citizens around the world because of the ongoing war.
He further stated that is the time that countries were to collaborate and raise the economy as they have been dealing with the economic strain after Covid-19 and the Ukraine war. His call underlines the serious financial effects that are set to spread widely and affect many people, sectors and countries all around the world due to globalization.
He calls for all countries to examine the long-term and short-term consequences of what is taking place between Iran and Israel, and understand the consequential effects of what is taking place because if we don’t we will all be contributing to the collective failure in saving humanity and the world.
He went on to declare the position that Guyana is taking in the conflict which is calling for both countries to stop and look towards peace because of the effects that the war is having not only on the lives of their people but on the lives of everyone else in the world economically. He emphasizes the urgent need for diplomacy and compliance to international norms. Calling for a peaceful dialogue between the two countries.
