Prime Minister Terrnace Drew had an evening session with St. Kitts and Nevis nationals at the Independence Diaspora Dialogue. He had a meeting with the nationals and discussed various topics of national interest with them. He focused on nation-building with the help of unity and highlighted how they could make the nation progress well.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations. This whole event took place at Maestro’s, New York. Various other nationals were also present at the meeting and gave their support for the same.
The Independence Diaspora event marked the 41st Independence Day of St. Kitts and Nevis, which also gave rise to various feelings regarding the nation. It focused on the country’s vision, patriotism, and inspiration to improve.
Prime Minister Drew updated about the event and his meetup with officials on his Facebook handle. He said, “I engaged with the nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis in our Independence Diaspora Dialogue. We discussed various topics of national interest, and I emphasized the critical role that the diaspora plays in our national development.”
During the gathering, PM Drew focused on ways to develop the nation. He also mentioned the need to focus on various issues of the country, such as national development, climate change adaptation, renewable energy, agriculture, investment, and the role of diaspora in the country’s progress.
PM Drew and Senior Minister Dr. Douglas also made sure that their government always gave the required support in maintaining positive ties with several other countries. He also said in the meeting that he would stand by the nationals wherever other countries require it in the future.
“We are committed to working hand in hand with our diaspora to build a stronger, more resilient St. Kitts and Nevis,” said Prime Minister Dr. Drew.
He also said, “Your contributions are invaluable to our nation’s continued success.” He thanked other nations for their support. PM Drew said, “With the unity amongst several nations, we can create an even better St. Kitts and Nevis.”
The dialogue was carried forward by the Excellency Jacinth Henry-Martin, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Ambassador to the United States of America and Permanent Representative to the Organisation of American States (OAS).
Various other ministers also joined her in this dialogue, such as Dr. Mutryce Williams, the Federation’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Naeemah Hazelle, Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, and other Federal government officials.
