The government of Jamaica is taking steps to the brand messaging of the island nation. Prime Minister Andrew Holness shared his words on the efforts in the direction and mentioned the involvement of an international consulting firm to spread the message of the nation very clearly.
The information was shared by Prime Minister Andrew Holness while addressing the Mega Showcase by Sandals Resort International. The event is held for eight days, from 13 October to 20 October. The PM was part of the event as a part of the inaugural Jamaica Love celebration by Sandals.
The focus of the government of Jamaica is to make the presence of the nation strong and powerful in the market. The Prime Minister mentioned in his statement that the move is very strategic and instrumental, and the consulting firm will ensure the country’s message is promoted proactively.
Andrew Holness said, “The government realizes that we must be very clear about the message related to Jamaica because we recognize that what is being said and known about Jamaica may not always be accurate.”
The Prime Minister added, “We need to be clear about what we say about ourselves. What are we saying to the travel advisors, the booking agents, the airlines, our friends, and the people who come here as visitors every day.”
At the event, PM Andrew Holness commended Adam Stewart, the Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International, and his team for their work. He stated that the resort chain is a perfect representative of Jamaica fulfilling its potential.
PM Holness said, “We still have more to accomplish. Our friends in the travel and tourism industry are very important partners in achieving our goals. I want to thank you for being here today and for accepting the invitation. It means a lot.”
Nick Perry, the United States Ambassador to Jamaica, also shared his words, “We are pleased that so many Americans can benefit from the Jamaican hospitality. The US is a reliable partner for Jamaica to improve the safety and security of the millions of visitors from the US. We support Jamaican institutions that provide services to the US tourists and the tourism sector.”
The ambassador added, “The collaboration between our nations extends beyond the exchange of business. It includes training programs, investment, and sustainable tourism initiatives to promote environmental stewardship and strengthen local communities.”
Nick Perry said about Jamaica’s increasing popularity, “The Jamaica brand was never this big. Jamaica is a rock star. Sandals is too a rock star brand. Sandals is the most recognized corporate brand in the Caribbean. It is run and powered by Caribbean nationals.”
