Kingston, Jamaica: Yona Knight-Wisdom, a renowned diver from Jamaica, is reported to announce his retirement from the sport as the Paris Olympic Games will end.

It is to be noted that Knight-wisdom, who is currently 29-yers-old is based in the UK. This time, it will be his third time participating in the Olympics and representing Jamaica.

As per the reports, Knight-Wisdom has been thinking about the decision to retire for almost a year and he stated that Olympics will be the right platform to announce his retirement from the sport.

He further stated, he feels that his body is telling him to slow down and ending his career at the biggest stage will be the perfect place and timing.

Knight-Wisdom shared that he always wanted to leave the game at the highest level, and this time, he is getting the opportunity and he is not willing to leave this moment and announce his retirement.

Significantly, in the Olympic Games in 2016 that was held in Rio the diver made history by being the first from Jamaica to qualify for the Olympics. He is also the first diver from any Caribbean region to perform at the biggest platform that every sportsperson dreams of.

Additionally, Knight-Wisdom has also represented Jamaica during the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. During that year he participated in three- metre springboard event. However, he could qualify for the final round as he finished at the 15th position during the semifinals.

Currently, Yona Knight-Wisdom is also sharing daily updates on his social media account. In this series he can be observed sharing the updates regarding his training sessions, his meet-ups with his friends or his outings for football matches.

Recently, he also shared a gratitude post for his trainers ‘Jen’ and ‘Fi’, who stood by him during his injuries and he was never sure that he will be able to qualify for the Paris Olympic.

Also, the list of the divers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is out and will have equal gender representation. This time 68 men and 68 women from 32 countries will participate during July and August.
