Jamaica: A shocking incident has been reported to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) from St. Ann where a father allegedly killed his two young boys. The killer is identified by the JCF as Alaine Saunders, a 22-year-old of swamp district, Moneague, and has been formally charged with two counts of murders.
As per the police reports, the victims were identified as 1-year-old Amir Saunders who was the biological child of the accused and two-year-old Shamair Henry, who was his stepson. The incident took place on the night of Tuesday, 26 August 2025. The incident left the whole community in shock that why would someone do something like that to his own sons.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused and his living partner were at home when an argument arose between them. During the argument Ssaunders attacked his partner with a pair of scissors. The woman successfully escaped the premises and sought assistance from the Moneague Police.
As per the statements of the responding officers, the officials upon arrival discovered blood stains at the residence and the children were missing. With continuing investigations the next morning officials discovered the bodies of the missing children, one from behind the house and the others in its immediate vicinity.
Additionally the police said that the accused was under a strong influence of alcohol and was immediately taken into custody.
During the investigation the mother of the children gave statements that she left the children in the crib while fleeing from the attack, and according to the investigators it is predicted that after her departure, Saunders inflicted fatal injuries upon them.
Following a formal interview that was conducted in the presence of his attorney, he was charged for the offences. He will appear before the court in the coming days.
Authorities have confirmed that the grief counselling will be provided to the children’s mother and relatives, and the Child Protection and Family Services Agency continues to assist in the further investigations of the case.
