Jamaica: A brand-new four-year series called the “Horizon Netball Series” is all set to be held across Jamaica and England in November 2024. The series will kickstart on November 16, 2024, and will run through November 26, 2024.
The four-match series will welcome the netball teams of both the countries with two matches being held in England and other two will be held in Jamaica.
The series will be kicked off with the match between England and Jamaica at AO Arena, Manchester in England on November 16, 2024. The second match will also be held at AO Arena, Manchester on November 17, 2024.
The third match of the series will take place between Jamaica and England at National Indoor Sports Centre, Kingston on November 25, 2024. The fourth and the last match of the series will be held at the National Indoor Sports Centre, Kingston on November 26, 2024.
Through the four-match series, one of the best rivalries in netball will be renewed as the Vitality Roses will play against Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls. Every year over the next four years, two matches will be hosted by England and other two will be hosted in Jamaica.
2024 is considered as the inaugural year as the series will be started in November. The test series will reignite the rivalry as England and Jamaica currently ranked third and fourth in the
Jamaica and England last met in 2023 when they played a three-match test series in Manchester and London. At the matches, England turned out to be the winner as they defeated in the two matches.
In the first match, Vitality Roses secured victory with the score of 73-52, while in the second match, Sunshine Girls won the match with 61-58 scores. England claimed the series by defeating Jamaica in the last match with the score of 63-59.
In the Netball World Cup last summer, England finished the tournament at the second position and won the silver medal, while Jamaica won the bronze medal as they remained at the third position.
