Caribbean: interCaribbean Airways landed at Robert L Bradshaw International Airport on Tuesday for the direct service. The aircraft CRJ700 of the airline touched down in St Kitts and Nevis from Barbados.
interCaribbean Airways, based in Turks and Caicos launched direct flights to St Kitts and Nevis last year as the inaugural flight landed at RLB International Airport on March 14, 2023. Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew extended greetings to the airline staff and lauded the growth of the aviation sector of St Kitts and Nevis.
A special welcome ceremony was hosted at the airport for the ATR crew members, staff, agents and representatives. The service was launched between St Kitts and Nevis and Barbados, and the celebration was held to promote the opportunities for various travel and tour operators.
interCaribbean Airways offers service to St Kitts and Nevis during the destination’s Summer of Fun activities including St Kitts Music Festival, Nevis Mango Festival, Restaurant Week, Culturama, CPL T20 and the Kittian RumMaster Program.
The aircraft CRJ 700 consists of 70 seats and is known as the regional jet. It was added to the fleet of interCaribbean Airways in September. The aircraft ATR-72 of the airways also offers service to St Kitts from Barbados as it was firstly launched on August 30, 2023.
The aircraft has the capacity of 68 seats, and it was first deployed to the Sothern Caribbean on Friday. It is also known as one of 10 ATR aircraft that was incorporated this year.
Before getting official for St Kitts, interCaribbean Airways used to offer special charter flight to the country with the use of Embraer EMB 120 Brasilia.
InterCaribbean Airways started its operation in November 2013 and now the airline currently fly to almost all the English speaking islands in the Eastern Caribbean. The airline has a hub in Barbados and Tortola and the consisted of the aircrfats such as (1) ATR 42-500, (1) Twin Otters, (10) Embraer EMB 120 ER and (3) Embraer ERJ-145…50 seat regional jets.
