The government of St. Kitts and Nevis has made an investment of more than one million dollars this year for the renovation of the Cayon High School.
The Cayon High School (CHS) Alumni group, CHS BEST, has recently made a generous donation. They sent students desks, chairs, and tables to the school. It was made at the beginning of the academic year as the school reopened on September 2nd after going through certain renovations. It will provide the students and instructors with better conditions in the classroom.
The Principal, Ms. Kayla Morris, also expressed sincere thanks on behalf of The Cayon High School. She happily stated how overwhelmed she felt that the CHS BEST Alumni had helped the school. The donations included furniture for both the students and teachers, which generally benefits classroom conditions.
She added, “The donation has made a considerable impact on the learning environment. Most of the classrooms are outfitted, and now students are more comfortable, which has advanced learning. We look forward to a continued relationship with CHS BEST.”
Although these improvements may seem minor, they all together contribute to a better learning atmosphere for students.
These initiatives have been taken for a very long time to help in the school’s development. Started by the former students, showcases the everlasting connection that still exists between the Cayon High School graduates and their school.
Earlier this year, the government of St. Kitts and Nevis made a generous investment of more than one million dollars in the renovation of the Cayon High School. This donation was made before the new academic year, ensuring that when the school reopens, students and teachers can return to a safe and welcoming environment.
The noticeable changes that were seen after the renovation are the new doors, new windows, and new furniture. The school was painted well. These changes have a positive impact on students. This motivates the students to go to school regularly and focus on learning. The teachers also feel encouraged as with better facilities, they can help the children grow.
PM Drew said that the investment made in Cayon High School within the past one and half years was the most for a decade and wanted the people to know that the government was committed to providing resources for the school like any other institution.
