Caribbean: Caribbean Airlines announced additional flights between New York and Guyana for the upcoming “Caribbean Premier League” for September and October 2024. A total of seven-day service will be provided on the route to make these tournaments accessible for the tourists from the US market.
The service has been launched under the “Welcome Home” campaign of the Caribbean Airlines as Guyana is popular destination for Cricket Carnival. The service from New York to Guyana will be provided by BW557 aircraft three days.
The flights will be operated on September 27, 29 and October 3 and 4, 2024 with the same departure time of 1: 10 pm and the arrival time of 6: 50 am. The return flight will also be operated by Caribbean Airlines with the usage of the aircraft BW556 on October 6, 7 and 8, 2024 with the departure time of 11: 30 pm and the arrival time of 5: 30 am.
The service is added due to the cricket carnival as the much-anticipated “Caribbean Premier League” will be held. The tournament is considered as the festival across the region as a total of six teams participate and play for the trophy.
The Caribbean Premier League 2024 will kickstart on August 29, 2024, with the first match between Antigua Barbuda Falcons and St Kitts-Nevis Patriots at Antigua. The tournament will run through October 6, 2024 as the finals of the CPL will be held at 7: 00 pm at Guyana National Stadium.

The first match in Guyana will be held between Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SKNP) on September 20, 2024. The second match will be held on September 21, 024 between Saint Lucia Kings and Barbados Royals.
