Bahamas: Amid the destruction that category five hurricane Beryl has been causing, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bahamas has announced that the cabinet has decided to immediately airlift the Bahamian students in the Jamaica.
This decision came after the Bahamian students struck in Jamaica have requested the government to reach back to their homeland and be with their families during these challenging times.
The press release shares that Consul General Alveta Knight has been handed this task to advise the students who wish to leave Jamaica during hurricane Beryl.
The ministry also shared that a 50 seater Bahamasair aircraft is being sent to the airport in Kingston this afternoon, this afternoon of July 2.
The students have been asked to reach the airport at precisely 2:00 PM Jamaican time and also coordinate about their departure with the Consul on duty that is General Alveta Knight.
Currently, Hurricane Beryl has set its sights on Jamaica after causing devastating effects and killing at least one person in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and three at the Carriacou and Petite Martinique, Grenada.
