Eleuthera, Bahamas: A fun swimming session turned into a tragedy when an American tourist died due to a boating accident in Eleuthera, the Bahamas.
According to the information, the incident occurred at Harbour Island on Saturday around 2:00 PM.
The deceased is reported to be a 38-year-old American citizen and her name has not been disclosed yet.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the 38-year-old American visitor was swimming along with a male companion in the waters of Pink Sands Beach when the life-threatening accident occurred.
The reports indicated that a 35ft Contender vessel was involved in the accident.
As the incident occurred, the victim was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by the emergency services and was later shifted to New Providence through the helicopter.
Despite all the efforts to save her, the woman succumbed to her injuries. She was pronounced dead the same evening.
The officials have extended condolences to the family and friends of the deceased woman and have also requested swimmers to be cautious while engaging in water activities.
The police authorities are continuing the investigation.
