Dominica gets ready for the 24th World Creole Music Festival, set to take place at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. The three-day music festival is scheduled from October 25 to October 27. International sensations like T-Vice, Nadia Batson, Valiant, and Rotimi will perform on the very first day.
The gala will feature a number of performances by lead singers from local, regional, and international backgrounds. The event promotes different musical styles, including bouyon, cadence, reggae, dancehall, zouk, kompa, soca, and afro beats.
The festival helps to increase the economy and promotes Caribbean music culture. It is celebrated every year in the last week of October.
The music celebrations will start on Friday, October 25, with the most iconic band performances by Dominica’s Extasy Band. A nine-member band founded in 2009, best known for the Creole fusion with Caribbean music. The night continues with T-Vice, a Haitian band with frontman Roberto Martino, expected to set the stage ablaze with his high-energy performance.
Nadia Batson, singer and songwriter from Trinidad & Tobago, will grace the stage on the same day. She is known for her huge hits like Machel Montano, Farmer Nappy, and others. The Jamaican Dancehall artist Valiant has been doing quite a number with international music and will also perform. Rotimi. The Nigerian-American actor and singer will also perform on the twenty-fifth of October.
On Sunday, October 27, the next day, the lineup will have Asa Bantan, a singer and songwriter from Dominica known for his high-energy performance.
On the very same day, Pudaz Kassav from Martinique & Guadeloupe will perform. Damien & Stephen Marley from Jamaica will also perform. Additionally, Umpa and Subance from St. Lucia will also perform.
The most awaited artist of the day, Grammy winner WizKid, will also perform on Sunday. Wixkid has worked with international rappers and singers like Drake, Skepta, and Chris brown. The artist’s last album was featured in the top 59 position on Billboards 200.
The last day of the music festival will feature the Haitian sensation Kai. He will be joined by Dominica’s Signal Band, known for its Caribbean carnival festival vibes. Followed up by the Midnight Groovers, who will fill the night with soca, calypso, and reggae music.
The Caribbean Music Awards Male Soca Artist of the Year, representing St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Skinny Fabulous is one of the country’s most favorite musicians. He is one of those stars who catch the most excitement among fans. Artist Tian Winter from Antigua will add her own unique touch to the closing ceremony.
Gramps Morgan is set to fill the night with his iconic hits and collaborations. Dwayne Stephenson from Jamaica will bring some reggae roots, along with coupled with Fanny J from French Guiana, for the closing ceremony.
