St John’s – Bringing much pride for the people of Antigua and Barbuda two distinguished public servants – The Chairman of the Campus Council for the University of the West Indies Five Islands Campus, Aziz Fares Hadeed and Deputy Commissioner of Police Everton Glenroy Jeffers- are all set to receive Kings New Year Honours for the year 2025.
According to a statement released to the media, the chairman of the Campus Council will get a knighthood -Order of St Michael and Saint Geoge- while Deputy Commissioner of Police Everton Glenroy Jeffers of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda will receive the King’s Police Medal (K.P.M.).
The chairman of the Council will be receiving the honours for his exemplary work in the field of social and economic development of Antigua and Barbuda.
On the other hand Jeffers who has completed 40 years of service in the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda is being honoured for his dedication and hard work during all these years.
Aziz Fares Hadeed, had earlier been conferred with Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) and Ordinary Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George (K.C.M.G.).
It has been stated that the contribution made by Hadeed has been immense for the social and economic growth of Antigua and Barbuda.
The award being given to Everton Glenroy Jeffers acknowledges his long service to the police force. During his tenure as a police officer, Jeffers worked to ensure law enforcement in Antigua and Barbuda while ensuring the safety and security of the people.
Jeffers is one of the most decorated and respected police officers in the nation.
Aziz Fares Hadeed said that it was indeed a great honour to be recognised for the Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.).
“This honour gives me more strength to work for the nation and its people and I will continue doing so,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Everton Glenroy Jeffers said that he had dedicated his entire life to the service of the people and to check crime in Antigua and Barbuda.
