St Lucia: The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) is setting the stage for the 5th annual Global Piton Awards. The event will be held from June 15 to June 19, 2025. It honors the best travel advisors and tour operators from across the world, showing great professionalism in great support of Saint Lucia’s tourism in 2024.
This year’s celebration has reached a great milestone. It highlights St Lucia’s dedication to tourism excellence. The awards aim to present the best in the global travel trade. Also, the chosen awardees from key markets include the United States, Canada, the United kingdom, and the Caribbean.
Notably, Fifteen winners will come from the US, ten from the UK, five from Canada, and five from the Caribbean. Award winners will get to experience what St Lucia has to offer in terms of culture, beauty, and world class hospitality. Also to note is that the highlight of the program will be a grand gala which will be organized at the end of the program on June 17.
Three awards at the top of the list will be given out which includes:-
- Prime Minister’s Honor for Excellence
- The Minister of Tourism award for achievement
- SLTA Chair’s Award for Excellence
Louis E. A. Lewis, CEO of the St Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), described the award ceremony as an expression of the island’s pride “The Global Piton Awards stand as a symbol of Saint Lucia’s pride, a tribute to our iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site twin peaks and to the remarkable heights our travel partners continue to reach,” emphasized the CEO.
During the event, guests will check out top resorts which include Sandals Halcyon and Secrets St Lucia. Also they will experience the island culture at the St Lucia Mural. Furthermore, at Howelton Estate, hands-on workshops will be organized including chocolate making, handbag crafting, and cold-press coconut oil production.
SLTA is focused on promoting sustainable tourism. They are protectors of St Lucia’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. In 2025, which marks the start of a new chapter for the island, they will be hosting the Global Piton Awards which they promised to be an experience of a lifetime. It will be a celebration of excellence and partnership in global travel.
