Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: It is for the first time in the history of the federation that St. Kitts and Nevis have launched the pre-nursing programme, which is designed to provide an environment of learning and academic growth. This will also offer a seamless transition into the UWI-CFBC Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) Programme primarily, and the CFBC Enrolled Nursing Assistant (ENA) Programme.
Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew shared this update on his social media, “It is with pleasure that we have launched for the first time in the Federation the pre-nursing programme.” He noted, “This is part of our plan to strengthen the nursing profession.”
It is to be noted that the Pre-Nursing Programme has been launched with an aim to attract individuals who fail to meet the matriculation requirement for either the UWI-CFBC BSN Programme or the CFBC ENA Programme.

If the student has incomplete Matriculation, then they should have at least passed three subjects either in CSEC or GCE ordinary level exams. But these subjects should not fulfil the requirements of matriculation admission to higher education.
Also, for the students admitted, especially for UWI Global Campus, St. Kitts the criteria will include, students must have passed in English A and Mathematics at the CSEC level or anything that stands equivalent to be eligible to be registered as special admits.
Moreover, the students can only register for two foundation courses each semester. Also, an exemption of upto nine credits will be available for the UWI-CFBC BSN programme.
Following completion of the course the students will be awarded with a certificate of completion by CFBC. All the students who will complete the Pre-Nursing Programme are eligible to apply for the UWI-CFBC BSN Programme or any other programme at the college. The students can also enrol themselves in the Enrolled Nursing Assistant Programme.
