The Culturama Secretariat has officially presented the long-awaited Culturama 51 Slogan Competition for the people of Nevis.  The Culturama Secretariat invites all creative minds of the island to send in craftily short, original, and catchy slogans.

The slogan competition is a great opportunity for the young minds of the nation to join the celebration of this festival.

Participants are kindly asked that slogans should not exceed eight to ten words, and the slogans should capture the lively nature of Nevis cultural celebrations. The instructions clearly mentioned that any slogans used by other festival or carnival committees would not be entertained in any form.

The deadline for submission is Friday, November 29, 2024. The slogans can be submitted to the Culturama Secretariat as well as through emails at slogan@culturamanevis.com. Also, no entries will be accepted by telephone.

The winner will receive two free passes to all 51 entries in the Culturama, as well as a trophy. In addition, they will receive a cash prize of EC $500.00, courtesy of the organizing committee.

Despite the fact that the submission process seems straightforward, it is important for the participants to follow the guidelines. It will give everyone a fair chance to be recognized.

Culturama Secretariat asked everyone who is interested in the promotion and preservation of Nevisian culture should join this festival. The festival will help further preserve the island traditions.

Culturama, popularly known as “Nevis’ Premier Festival,” seeks to develop the cultural awareness of Nevasians through heritage and other art forms.

Culturama 51 points out the island’s rich cultural heritage and the importance of the event in maintaining and promoting it. Additionally, even the smallest local businesses will have an opportunity to capitalize on the increase in tourism opportunities offered due to the increase in tourist traffic.

The Culturama Committee also created a space for the local talents and cultural workers to perform. It brings a great opportunity for small businesses, vendors, and artists to make money.

The Culturama committee also organizes various training programs to motivate the residents of Nevis to learn new skills such as costume making, dance choreography, etc.

The committee is also working towards making this festival more sustainable for the people of Nevis. The objective of this agenda is to increase more connectivity between Nevis and other nations and to bring all the people to celebrate this festival together, making affordable for everyone.

The Culturama Seceteriart plans to hold workshops on creative writing to promote the Kaiso art form workshops for Junior Kaisonians. This initiative is also proposed to increase the engagement of the young generation in cultural activities.

The Secretariat also intends to upgrade the technical and organizational areas of the event in the upcoming five years. Furthermore, the Culturama slogan competition will remain a yearly event for Nevisians to be more responsive to and enthusiastic about.

As a way of reducing dependency on the Nevis Island Government for financial support, the Secretariat is focusing on securing sponsorship from the corporate business segment in the funding of the festival.

The 50th Nevis Culturama Festival was a success for the people of Nevis and was a good thing for their island. Many attendees dressed in colorful outfits for the occasion to celebrate Culturama 50, a culture and history event.

After the festival, the data showed that Charlestown Harbour saw a 7% increase in harbor activity. Oualie Water Taxi reported a 60% overall surge in water taxi traffic.  And 1025 vehicles were recorded as passing through during the homecoming festivities by Long Point Vehicle Traffic.

Culturama Festival has been one of the most anticipated celebrations. The residents of Nevis wait for this festival every year.

The “Culturama 50 Emancipation Concert” was the nation’s largest summer celebration, which took place earlier on August 3, 2024, at the Nevis Cultural Village.

Many artists performed at this event and set the stage on Euphoria, giving one of their best live performances. The incredible dua Nelia Jones and Sugar Bowl were the hosts for this great event.

The concert was one of the most enjoyable nights for the people of Nevis. The event not only created a lively ambiance but also gave a fresh air to breathe. The crowd was very overwhelmed by the end of the event.

The artists performed at the event were Burning Flames, Speedy, Triple-K International, Jah Vinci, Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons, Skinny Banton, Friends Band, Small Axe Band, and more.
