Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit extended his warm support and welcome to Mr. Dwayne Cenac, who is appointed as the new General Manager of the Dominica Electricity Services Company (DOMLEC).
Based on the discussions held between them recently, PM Roosevelt assured the public about the betterment of Electricity supplies across the country. He has also extended government support to Mr. Dwayne Cenac regarding the improvement of the power supply. Additionally, he talked about providing all the relevant materials to boost the progress.
Prime Minister Roosevelt made a statement in his recent Facebook post, conveying some really important conversations that took place between him and the general manager, Mr. Cenac.
He said, “Our discussion focused on his strategic goals to enhance our power supply and ensure reliable, affordable energy for all Dominicans. I assured Mr. Cenac of the government‘s full support of DOMLEC’s efforts to expand generation capacity and improve service reliability for customers.’’
Mr. Dwayne Cenac started his role as the General Manager on September 2, 2024. Ms. Francine Baron, Chairperson of the Board, gave an important statement in which she said, “Mr. Cenac assumes the role of Manager of DOMLEC at a challenging time for the company, as it plays its part in Dominica’s transition from fossil fuel generation to renewable energy, in particular geothermal energy.”
Before joining DOMLEC, Mr Cenac had earlier played a significant role in management at another Eastern Caribbean power company. Consequently, his previous knowledge and considerable contribution to the field are expected to bring fruitfulness to the electrical field as well.
On top of that, Mr. Cencac is a qualified electrical engineer with various achievements in his name. He has thorough and well-to-do experience in the field of the power system sector. Safe to say, his appointment is expected to bring about multiple changes in the power sector.
