Follow along live with the Springfield City Council meeting for April 3rd, 2019. This meeting was moved for the April 2nd, election. There will be a presentation by Public Works on yard waste pickup service in the city. They also discussed providing funding for the Land of Lincoln Economic Development Corporation.

This is the live feed for the Springfield City Council meeting for September 17th, 2019. The zoning for a new homeless shelter in Ward 2 is up for discussion. Regulations for recreational cannabis are also up for passage after discussion last week.

The proposed location homeless shelter has drawn significant public discussion, and the council chamber is standing-room only. The discussion of the shelter begins at ~22 minute mark of the video.

Update: The city council voted 8-2 to approve the zoning for the Helping Hands facility. Aldermen Gregory (Ward 2) and Turner (Ward 3) opposed.

LIVE | Springfield City Council Meeting, March 19th

Follow along live with the Springfield City Council meeting for March 19th, 2019. The council will be voting on a proposal to provide $7,650,000 in TIF funding for a new hotel project on Washington St. The $56 million project would create an extended stay hotel. The hotel would also have luxury apartments and other commercial applications. Parking was the primary concern voiced at the last meeting. Construction is expected to create 400 to 600 new jobs, including a youth apprenticeship program.

The meeting was adjourned for executive session. The start of the meeting is below, the TIF discussion is in the top player.
