Grenada was named the 2024 Caribbean Destination of the Year by Caribbean Journal readers in their annual Travelers’ Choice Awards.
The island’s stunning natural beauty as well as engaging experiences and its commitment to sustainable tourism helped claim the top spot.
Additionally, the Caribbean Journal Travelers’ Choice Awards garnered over 35,798 votes this year, highlighting the destinations that captured the hearts of the travelers in the region.
Grenada Tourism Authority’s CEO, Petra Roach expressed her gratitude for winning this title stating, “This incredible honour reaffirms Grenada’s position as a must visit destination.”
She further added that the destination offers exactly what the travelers seeks – authentic cultural immersion, a safe and welcoming environment, and a strong commitment to sustainability.
CEO Roach further said that these values are at the heart of who they are as a nation.
“Being named the Caribbean Destination of the Year by such a discerning audience is testament to our community’s dedication to creating meaningful experiences that not only delight visitors, but also reflect our core values as a country,” noted CEO Roach.
The tourism officials on their official Facebook page expressed their thrill as they stated, “We’re thrilled to share that we have been named the 2024 Caribbean Destination of the Year.”
The officials also featured on their post the culinary icons like James Beard, the award-winning chef Alexander Small who brings fresh as well as spice infused experiences to life in Grenada for food lovers to enjoy endless delights on the island while travelling.
The citizens pleased with this comment under their posts, “Wow! Moreover, with daily flights from Miami to New York and weekly flights from Boston and Charlotte, it has made it easier for travelers to travel to this paradise.
This honour is also a strong endorsement from a global audience of high – income, highly educated travelers from United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, who visit the Caribbean nations on an average 3.4 times per year.
